Search Engines
Obviously the biggie is Google! There are HUNDREDS of 'search engines' but few actually popular and the popular ones is where you need to be! Did you know you don't HAVE to submit your site to Google IF your URL is listed on other sites who are already Google listed? Well most people don't know it and people profit from the myth. Google has BOTS that go from link to link to find sites and IF your site is deemed worthy Google will add it automatically. The more external sites APPROVED by Google that you are listed on the higher in the rankings you will become. Also there are 'cheats' that make it look like you have more listings! And if Google finds that they are cheats you will get no listing at all. You need to play fair and you will be treated fair. I tell you though, it is great when a customer tells you that they have had enquiries from your Google listing 'cos that's what it's all about. Drawback is it can take over a month to get the first pages found and then it may not find them all first time. Patience.
